Charlotte Wedding Magazine Fiesta Shoot

When I got the email from Charlotte Wedding Magazine asking if I’d do makeup for an inspiration shoot, I responded with a HECK YEAH! When I started doing makeup professionally I called around to all kinds of photographer’s asking if they needed an artist for trade shoots. Basically that meant I was working for free for a good 4-6 months. But I had to put something on my website! I love making over models and the atmosphere of a real photo shoot. It goes from slow pace to fast in the click of a camera! The photographer needs to get out there for that perfect light or before a rain storm. I love the creative freedom of doing something different or bold. My mom still tells me to this day I ALWAYS had to be different! Namely clothes, music, hair, makeup. I always wanted to fit in with the “cool kids” but still be my own person. I’ll tell you a secret… I’m pretty loud and I’m not shy about voicing my opinions. Lauren hates it when she is giving a client a facial and she can hear me right next door! So back to my point of being loud and different! On photo shoots I’m allowed to voice what I think a look should be and work with the stylist so we can be cohesive and on the same page.

This shoot was so much fun! May I just say that Lucy and Steven Randall of Smitten and Hooked Photography are so much fun to work with!! So much energy and creativity come out of that couple! And they’re HILARIOUS! And once I arrived I saw some of the beautiful creations that other vendors had worked on. I was SO excited to see that Karen Greenoe of Lily Greenthumb had made the most beautiful and colorful flowers. Why was I excited?! Well, because Miss Karen is doing the florals for my wedding!! I absolutely adore her! This shoot was inspired by the Latin culture. So think lots of colors, sombreros’, spicy dishes, and dancing! All the photos came out beautiful and I was so excited when I received my box of magazines. I know where I started and where I’m headed so it will never get old seeing my name in a magazine. Thank you Charlotte Wedding for allowing me to work on such a fun shoot! Ya’ll have treated  me well!

Hope you enjoy some of my favorites! To see the full 12 page spread, check out the magazine!
